House rules

Dish Dice is a small personal project, not a company. These are the rules for using it, in plain English.

What it is

Dish Dice helps a household decide what to eat. You add meals and places you already like, and it picks one, plans a week, and builds a shopping list.

It is free, and it is run in someone's spare time. Please treat it accordingly.

Please read this one

Some features use AI to suggest a dish name from a photo, propose ingredients, or come up with meal ideas. Those suggestions are guesses, and they are sometimes wrong.

Never rely on Dish Dice for allergens, dietary requirements or food safety. An AI-suggested ingredient list may miss something that is present, or list something that is not. If anyone eating has an allergy, an intolerance, a medical condition, or a religious or ethical requirement, check the actual packet and recipe yourself. Dish Dice helps you decide what to cook. It is not a source of nutritional, dietary or medical information.

Your account, your stuff

You need to be 18 or over. Keep your password to yourself, and use an email address you can actually receive mail at — it is the only way back in if you forget the password.

Everything you put in is yours. We do not publish it, sell it, or show it to anyone else. We only store and process it to run the app for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Do not upload anything unlawful, anything that is not yours to upload, or photographs of people who have not agreed to it.

Being decent about it

Do not attack the service, try to get into other people's accounts, scrape it, hammer it with automated requests, or use it to send mail to people who did not ask for it. Accounts doing that will be removed.

No promises

Dish Dice is provided as it is, for free. It might break, it might be unavailable, and one day it might stop existing. If it is ever shut down, you will get reasonable notice by email so you can save what matters.

Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer, or removes responsibility for anything the law does not allow to be excluded.

Leaving

You can delete your account and everything in it from Settings, at any time. It happens immediately and cannot be undone — and you are welcome to sign up again with the same email whenever you like.

Changes

If these rules change, the date above changes. If it is something that matters, you will get an email.
